EUCLASS Alliance Network aims to address challenges in European Citizenship Education, particularly in VET settings.
VET teachers face additional challenges compared to general education teachers, since really often VET students struggle with general subjects making it complex to integrate this subject in VET curricula.
The project, involving 8 organizations across 6 EU countries, seeks to address these issues. It aims to create a pan-European network connecting VET centres to enhance awareness and understanding of the EU. The project builds on past Jean Monnet initiatives but expands its scope to create a collaborative transnational approach.
The project focuses on four main outcomes:
- strengthening the EU dimension in IVET programs,
- improving teachers' competencies,
- enhancing students' EU citizenship knowledge
- and fostering collaboration among European IVET centres.
Emphasis is placed on participation in democratic life, with activities designed to
achieve this objective.
These include: teacher training sessions, classroom activities, Eurodays, transnational activities and collaborative projects.
The project follows a specific methodology:
- starting with research on best practices and needs assessment
- moving through the development of training programs for VET teachers
- teacher training and collaborative material development
- ending with a pilot for students
The overall goal is to create a dynamic and impactful learning environment, involving
at least 60 in-service teachers and 600 IVET students.
